The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. Reboot的全面回忆，到底是自我剽窃重复摹仿，还是全盘解构崭新纪元？Neo本是毁灭旧制后新世界的黎明喻体，元叙述怀旧自嘲的故事续写却落入茧缚的loop，如Rey重走Luke银河救世主之路，任何层面都是媚粉保守的无奈叹息，承载深厚期盼的Matrix因而处在商业使命和创新策略夹缝间沦为了影像风格、动作设计、皮囊继承处处暮气沉沉的拙劣产物。人类总在循环错误历史泥泞跋涉，像虚拟程序周而复始。Lilly+Lana才是the Wachowskis，回顾蜕变重生的旧日映射，也是片段闪回和卡司沿用的回首留恋自白。Neo和Trinity超越瞬间永恒，肉身幻象的触碰和对视，才能诠释宇宙最初和最后的爱，日出和黄昏的守候，彩彻区明的希望。叙事已死，媒介尽是废墟，觉醒的女性一跃而飞，似曾相识的心理分析不如看看猫片。
说实话，我打三星也是有情怀在里面才加的一颗星。
已经完整的故事，加这么一出真的是被枪指着硬憋出来的。一开始还算个同人花絮加吐槽，然后就是把第一集剧情重演一遍，剩下一半纯为爱痴狂。格局比前三部小到不知哪里去了，动作场面也难看得不行。算我粉丝给面子吧，求别再搞了。

本片作為續集，帶著一份罕見的自覺性，重新經營母體的虛擬世界。開頭便用後設的戲劇形式延續有關電腦世界的故事，大膽把三部曲說成電玩遊戲，而這個理論確實或多或少符合了系列誇張失真的超現實趣味，編導能如此戲謔自嘲自己的代表作，別有一番反叛調皮的趣味。當然，這份自嘲絕非夫子自道，而突顯編導這份渴望超越三部曲的野心和自覺，只是最大問題是過於淺薄，本質上實際和一般好萊塢英雄救美的超級英雄電影無異，雖然劇本有詳細設計（如如何離開母體），但這種花費一半篇幅講解的科幻世界觀相比第一集會加入不同哲學思維定義現實，就太微不足道了。而動作場面在喪失了袁和平的出色指導後，所剩下的不過是被好萊塢拍了多次的飛車追逐戰以及無敵氣功這種二手想象力場面罷了。
肉眼可见的“导演告诉观众我真的不想拍这一部你们将就看一下就好了”，很多关键角色都被省略或替代，加上时不时闪回的镜头，直接破坏了回忆和现有叙事，当然，最主要还是故事的讲述和动作的设计上相比三部曲没有新意了，更多是给情怀影迷的一种安慰大餐吧。
里面那段吐槽很合适，强行拍第四部，把第三部那么好的结局都败坏了。剧本感觉是临时凑的，整部电影凝聚力太弱了。前半段废话连篇，不知道怎么想出来的台词，到了最后一个小时才到正题，显得后半段还没有那么差了。最可怕的是，结局还是开放式的，说不定又是三部曲。
真·meta电影哇。坚信爱的魔力转圈圈的电影人八成只有沃卓斯基了！
如果确实如传闻所说，导演不想拍被逼着拍，干脆直接摆烂，那我觉得本片摆烂得挺好的，干脆就告诉你前三部就是基努里维斯的一个电脑游戏而已。矩阵是存在的，矩阵里面的人物也是存在的，但是和真实的人类是不一样的，不相关的。你会飞，我会飞，爱谁谁谁。
为什么说崔妮蒂和尼奥一起才是完全体，为什么导演只有一个，在这个充满了任性和放弃治疗的项目中几乎可以看到官僚式的“做奋勇状”的为了证明“我们在努力完成这个项目哦”而做出的一连串稀烂动作和资源放置。史密斯病毒炸弹那里完全是致敬速度与激情8丧尸车桥段。甚至可以说这是一部元电影，从中指射了所有华纳出品的DC烂片是如何从立项到完成的过程（为了这种可能存在的深度一定要加上一星）。
套着皮的恶俗爱情片，动作戏没法看，最后是啥，僵尸世界大战吗，一点精髓都没继承，连根本都丢了

平庸得叫人乏味。整部电影能看得出来，拍得很努力，在努力憋一个续作出来。越来越怀疑基努里维斯最近这些全都是续作的电影，是不是都是狗尾续貂式赚钱而已。||该说不说，我是不会有什么“déjà vu”的情怀感，毕竟我本就对《黑客帝国》三部曲和基努里维斯毫无感觉。‖我居然给了这电影三星。越想越觉得烂……绝了……

老年Neo就是一个会气功挡子弹的John Wick🕶️导演变性以后，更加天马行空到毫无章法！这电影绝对是年度最崩塌怪诞的科幻电影！但是看到Neo Trinity 再续前缘还是挺开心的（毕竟之前的绝别太惨啦）就这样吧，不要再重启此IP(正史完结野史一部）
怎么说呢？有种看大话西游3的感觉，那部唐嫣演的，一直在说前作多牛逼的电影
直接叫The Matrix Reunion 黑客帝国重聚特辑多好，评分至少能多两分
