本片的尴尬，也可能是蜡笔小新整个动画ip发展至今的尴尬，在于故事对成人而言愈发低幼化，让儿童来看，那些成人向的屎尿屁桥段又不合适。虽然也注入了想象力和温情，但团结一致拯救世界的故事走向太模式化，当涂鸦王国设定的新鲜感过去后，就对着吵吵嚷嚷的画面犯困了。
