The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 简简单单又可可爱爱的青春片，没什么大亮点不过挺流畅。
摇滚青春荷尔蒙……无疑此片表达部分对重金属音乐的致敬。其实很是感慨，作为在美国发扬光大的摇滚乐，加上电影业领先全球，却很少有与摇滚乐的电影，优秀的就更加稀缺，此片偏重于重金属。

细节处理比较到位，以小人物姿态发展大事件，影片想要讲的内容很多，有枪战、政治、人生价值，表达的方式竟不让人有违和感。但是司法局长女儿的圣母形象和受不了歧视宁愿变白的妇女的突然醒悟，却又让人觉得过于突兀和不合情理
