The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 拍的比剧好，很真诚很大气，多给半星。草野翔吾这导演还蛮好懂的，他对感兴趣的项目会亲自当编剧格外用心，拍杰人项目和低智恋爱剧时则很应付哈哈哈。
二倍速三星。看到结尾才知道是电影而非电视剧。视觉体验较佳，最后对HR的反击也有让人点头认同，是很好的放松心情的电影，让人想到初夏傍晚

即使在“非常态”的关系里，探索权力的边界和双方的步调也是非常重要的。但表面的大女主实际这段关系非常的男性主导

他的初恋和她的初恋一同在夕阳下落幕。——这是一部少量如铅块般沉重的残酷现实、与大量如丝绵般的温情相互平衡的青春物语。在围绕少年男同试图自我抹杀的故事中，少见地出现了完整、细腻而动人的女性视角。所有的主要人物都因为脱离俗套却不游离于现实之外而格外有趣。孤独终老或伤害欺瞒他人，这样摆出对立情景的同时也努力把东亚年轻人对与homo一味粉饰太平的态度放上台面，把这些东西混在一起讲述本身就已经是很珍贵的尝试。我好喜欢这个故事！！！！
篇幅原因比连多要明快太多了，其实还有比较深入的内容也就被舍弃乐……熟人也太多www。节奏上不差细节好评，细腻度略逊色。
小说＆画画 素材有啦
虽然电影本身真的好烂哦，但是anna酱这个角色是我见过最接近天使的人。这么好的女孩，开朗温柔又主动，她爱你是因为你是你，真诚又勇敢。她能融化每一个人。这次的作品没能让我吃他俩的cp 哭了
看了这么多年日影，我也发现了，日影就是喜欢在题材上“出奇制胜”。这是一个神奇的国度，啥都敢拍，且脑回路清奇。
我觉得拍的比剧版要好很多。神尾弟弟的演技也一直在线。能够在学校这样的地方去公开讨论同性这一件事，就真的是比我们超前太多。勇于说出来，才可以找到一个存活的平衡点吧。

职级差距，性别不平等和熟练度的反差，这三者与主仆关系的错位，形成了强烈的反差趣味性。耻度够而尺度不足，算是试探科普片吧，以及看出来dom真是一个体力活与脑力活并存的累活啊。（2022.02.12）
“如果你到了BL星 记得叫我”，女主角是天使嘛，真诚、坚定而富有同理心。礼堂里的演讲本来会显得青春期伤痛，但山田杏奈发挥得很好，对人坚定的期待，要帮助男生突出重围。也庆幸没有话题上的避重就轻，同志高中生塑造得有这个世代的代表性，试探、想要拥有更多，到不害怕告别去成长，神尾枫珠形象也加分
童话结局啊，那些会渡海、会从窗台一跃而下的才是残酷现实。身边都是喜欢ＢＬ的腐女，某些行业有２／３的从业同志，这就是一个性少数友好的社会吗？远得很了。
又是很典型的类型片。对于形婚首先想到的是自己委曲求全，完全不考虑女生的想法。另一方面所有异性恋都是好人，又体现了想要社会优待自己的自私想法。结论就是主角因为自私所以很煎熬。
