The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 要讲的东西太多，结果都没讲清楚，主题混乱，内容与片名的关系也不大。旁白从头到尾不停，导致观众没法沉浸到剧情中。最后半小时塞了太多东西，堪称灾难。
第一人称叙事，在那些诗一般淡淡的自语里，尽是感动。长镜运镜蒙太奇，结尾的时光回溯，我们哭着到来，哭着送别。

野心太大并不是一件好事！什么都想讲结果就是什么都没有讲好！王珞丹比王传君演得好，王传君因为药神明显被高估了，兰心剧院也演得颓废无力，台词永远含糊不清！回来才发现原来编剧是王朔，他的戏需要特定的人演才能贴脸！
浮躁之下觉得故事不够有意思，耐心之下倒是感觉影片拍得还可以，个人整体观感与获得2015年第72届威尼斯电影节 金狮奖的《来自远方》差不多吧？……★★★☆
