The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 梁朝伟帅，陈法拉也好看。剧情是真弱，弱得没有什么好说的。
真的好看，对漫威电影改观。
西方对怪物的想象真太贫乏无味了，终极boss噬魂大怪兽的出场把电影试图构建的整个古早东方语境毁得稀碎。
虽然不完美，但拍的带劲，拍的美，还是要给五星。这电影简直舔着中国人拍的。说辱华的歇歇吧，民族情绪过剩的建议996，007多加加班，多生孩子给国家多做实际的贡献，不比叽叽歪歪在这嘴炮强多了。
真好看。。。留下了汉奸的泪水。 除了无法理解为什么梁朝伟和陈法拉能生出刘思慕以后刘还能被别人摸着脸说：“你真像你妈妈”，以及后半程梁朝伟像个智商归零的碇司令以外，就挑不出什么槽点了。 改掉了所谓乳化要素，尚气也不是一个因为西方影响而对自己血脉开刀的人，结尾串场到神奇动物在哪里。 骑着东方龙打一个克系怪物，还有比这更过瘾的事吗？
刘思慕很帅！梁朝伟很帅！Awkwafina很逗！这部电影怎么说呢，并不太像近年漫威的电影，更像迪士尼动画片的套路。一点也不乳化好吗，更像是功夫熊猫，全片40%在说中文。。。
没有人可以拒绝一只会把脑袋搭在人身上的狗子！真实故事改编是很加分的，但真的没拍出自然和灵性，太过主角光环了。
反派洗白不能说完全不合理，一个全新人物，谈辱华也毫无关系，争议给这部片子加了看点，场外比电影本身更有趣，该拍个纪录片。动作设计还是OK的，现代冷兵器对拼总觉得怪怪的
非常典型的美剧风，真实、风趣，真的能带来很多快乐
特效是唯一的看点，一环套一环太有意思了，想起了西游记里青牛怪那一集。
每次到了亚裔电影，好莱坞就故意挑一堆最丑的演员，傲慢的告诉观众东方人都是这个丑样。美队钢铁侠雷神都找帅哥，小辣椒黑寡妇旺达都找美女，到了亚裔英雄，故意找丑的，太傲慢了。
这个动画全程透露出一种精神状态不佳的感觉，感觉作为观众的我也是如此
整个电影弥漫着东南亚风情，造型又土又丑，疯狂地想堆砌功夫元素……兄妹俩像四十岁不像二十多的……
向这种人与动物建立友情题材电影，我都会给满分
这个世界太缺乏正能量了，还是真实案例改编的电影，看完就是心中很暖的感觉，有被疗愈到。
意外還不錯，比花木蘭好多了。看得出很想討好華裔觀眾，結果因為莫名其妙路滑沒在大陸上映。陳法拉和梁朝偉這麼優良的基因生出了劉思慕，楊紫瓊還對他說他長得和陳法拉很像，我要笑死。張夢兒很颯。看到香港演員元華，梁朝偉和陳法拉都登上好萊塢的舞台覺得很驕傲。
塔罗是另一个宇宙的国度，这个村庄只是边境，当年打退攻击后居然没有驻军，就靠这些村民守着？
竟然很好看诶。好温馨。最后bob终于意识到linda有多supportive & posotive，妈妈真是家庭支柱。
每次看到美国一大家子这么和谐，父母相亲相爱等等，真的挺好看的
梁朝偉的人物和劇情設定很好嗑，但是漫威整體的美學我真是欣賞不來，很多地方我都是靠著設定+他的臉臆想如果換一種方法色彩和鏡頭語言就是什麼樣。我其實挺想打五星，但不是說這電影特別好，因為我本來就是去看梁朝偉的，只能說我吃得不錯，謝謝款待。
