The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 说实话，本作卡斯阵容也相当不错：
男主毁灭式的复仇太牵强，小孩不过是认识没多久。讲扑克又不花笔墨在扑克上，两头不到位。

被训练成变态的男主角，在复仇和玩牌的双线故事中无论哪个都不出彩。
男主真帅，女主最后突然很美。整体非常正能量的一部片子。

在男主给小白15万美元，让他回家看妈妈时，我如醍醐灌顶，这部把男主往救世主拍的自恋爆棚的作品，必然是自编自导，这种剂量的自恋，我上次还是在《文科恋曲》里大受折磨。 奥斯卡·伊萨克实际上扮演的就是保罗·施拉德想象中的自己。
一个人如果去过监狱，他会不会一直想要重新回去？这个电影里，到底谁在控制谁？是Tell在破事Cirk跟着他旅行，还是Cirk在一直令Tell想起过去并执行了最终的计划？一个被美军系统“囚禁”的人，讽刺地与高喊“USA”的人出现在同一张牌桌很多次。中间有些片段其实很想让人睡着，大段的内心独白有时候让人不明就里

算牌是一层幌子，掩盖了痛苦，在Cirk那条短信后创口被活生生撕裂血肉模糊，走向黑暗的方向，我看的时候整个人都在抖。结尾有点看到《好时光》，“I’ll take you home”，对这种注脚是爱与温情的实在没有抗拒力。对伤痛电影的理解愈发深刻了….
男主的扑克脸表情控制也很到位。
有种90年代剧情片的感觉，两个男主选的都不错，特别是伊萨克，造型非常有张力。罪与罚，是与非，在人间的审判之上的是“上帝”的审判。
监狱VR，感觉就像是没有贴好的hdr环境贴图。一个关于自我救赎的故事。
