The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 有些人就是会永远在路上，有些时候，一旦退出了主流人群，就再也不能像从前一样融入一种，愿每个人都能保持并享受独立的自我。
拍这种类型的片子创作者的精神状态真的非常重要呐。如果说在《骑士》中赵婷还有马力克的痕迹，在《无依之地》中，赵婷就是赵婷。一路的自由与浩瀚，与背负的隐痛交融，每个不得已上路的人，见过多少山河，又有多少故事无人倾诉。麦克多蒙德将这一复杂形象刻画得细致入微；这是一首昔日美国开拓精神的挽歌，是对每一个上路人的告慰。

在美国政治经济变动的时代里，看到人精神的追求，以及消费浪潮的反扑。
人们选择生活方式，不应该是选择轻松或者辛苦，不是选择有家可归或者流浪，也不是选择陪伴或者孤独，如果只是这样选择，那未免太过简单，那不叫选择，而是顺应世俗去生活。关于本片我想说的仅此。

虽然讲述的是美国故事，但情绪表达挺东方，钢琴配乐也挺东方。通俗的讲，都是天涯沦落人，伤心人。离开人群久了，回不去了。还有那些只有自己到过，被自然感动过的瞬间。于是想，50岁也上路吧。

联想到阿克曼的《安娜的旅程》。区别在于阿克曼风格化的镜头语言下是非常现实主义的片子，而赵婷现实主义外表下的镜头和情节是非常浪漫主义，甚至带有乌托邦色彩的。It’s not a bad thing. I like this film and hope I can practice this kind of life myself one day.
