The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 丹麦二战影片。“战争中无辜的只能是贫民！”真实事件改编，英国皇家空军的误炸，造成哥本哈根一所教会学校学生老师的无辜死亡。结合当下的俄乌战争，又有多少老百姓在战火之中失去家园，妻离子散家破人亡痛苦的泪水与呼喊历历在目……推荐《我眼中的阴影》
made。。真好看。两位小演员演技太好了。伊桑霍克也很creepy。电影缺点在我看来一是伊桑的做坏事的动机缺乏，可能只是单纯变态？二是小女孩和鬼魂们的戏份太少了，本以为小女孩会有更大作用或鬼魂们会来报复一下伊桑，结果并没有发生。
二战是取之不尽的题材，导演的用心算明了了，故事结构也还不错，画面拍摄的很漂亮，很北欧。本来是六分的片子，最后的轰炸使我联想起前天的乌克兰医院，给八分吧。最后女子那段600米奔跑的长镜头，跑出的底层百姓在战争下的无助，看着真是揪心。
与其说这部电影是恐怖片，其实我觉得其实偏悬疑吧，恐怖的氛围是有的，但是导演并没有采用视觉上的惊吓，而是先用前面的剧情让观众对两个小主角产生好感，再趁热打铁，让刚被关进地下室的小男主与恶棍斗智斗勇，这么一个可怜的小帅哥被恶棍关到地下室，你会不他的命运揪心吗？导演正是利用这一点，来对观众造成心理上的冲击。不得不说，斯科特导演确实把观众们的心理玩明白了呀，一亿美元的成绩理所应当。不过缺点我也不得不批评。构图差，配乐差，不能给观众带来视觉效果；小女孩的特殊能力影片没给出解答；剧情实在是太快了，有时让人摸不着头脑，虽然剧本非常一般，但小男孩和霍克的表演深深地强化了影片表达效果，小女孩的演技有待加强哦。这种以小孩子为视角的80’恐怖片永远是我的最爱
我從沒看過，一部電影裡幾乎所有演員的演技都開掛！
是一部以原历史素材为基础的改编佳作。修女扎针，绝望中依然心系救赎的信仰型抑郁，虔诚灵魂挣扎动人。孩子视角看待战争，天真变体与想象，很有毕加索《格尔尼卡》的出发点。若童真生存于残酷世界，世界也是残酷的变形。
还能不能出来点好看的恐怖片了！恐怖片迷好饥渴啊！！！
战争的恐怖已经超越它本身，尤其在小孩天真无邪的衬托下，并且其中还凸显出宗教的无能，像战争一样无情。整体气氛场面都很精致，人物心理的表达相当出色，让人看着太揪心，很棒…（被那个飞行员活活气死）
黑phone里，那双眼动人（没想到竟然是个（）片，美国电影里的变态实在是，过于礼貌了
宋康昊的很多电影要比这个更值得拿奖吧？不知道评委们怎么想的。
在氛围营造与设定上有些《小丑回魂》、《黑洞频率》、《第六感》及《怪奇物语》的味道，在某种程度上亦可以看作是《可爱的骨头》的姊妹篇。彼得·杰克逊玩奇幻、灵异、科幻、恐怖甚至恶趣味番茄酱都很有一套。更何况这个胖子去年拿了个魅力+50/影响+50/士气+50的“终身成就奖”（第19届美国视觉效果协会奖），斯科特·德瑞克森的修炼之路关山迢递，前程远大。最后的反杀太特么畅快了，故事中前前后后所有的小细节在那一刻都给连上了。
几乎就是小丑回魂翻版，前面大量铺垫基本都是浪费，反派也是毫无意义 😓

墨迹的phycho不说也罢，喜欢小孩们之间交流的戏
