The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 我最害怕的恐怖元素：
个人是很喜欢这种小故事组成的电影的。用蹩脚的韩语啃完生肉。有韩国传统的，有借鉴梗的，也有很有新意的。总体来说是值得的。
有事无故的典型，浪费了一堆好梗。据他们说还是老梗。
补充：思前想后觉得这个剧本最大的缺点是没把斑目貘的计划性写出来，导致人设和赌局的有趣程度大打折扣，虽然也能理解是想让没看过原作的人理解行为动机
影片的基调是冷郁的，泥泞土地、雾气秋天、漆黑雨夜和人们缓慢冷峻的表情。整体是惊悚的氛围，带着一些悬疑感，前面一直塑造小男孩冷静变态的行径，房门后的秘密令人惊恐和期待，但是高开低走，后半段出现很多不合逻辑的行为，苦心塑造的恶魔也是不堪一击，亲情环保原住民这些可能的主题，也只是模糊的一笔带过，让人略感失望 。
高度压缩版的小镇美剧，题材和方法都与之类似，没啥新意是肯定的，但还算保持了恐怖的样态。

原作里庞大的设定背后有相应的智谋和暴力支撑，电影摆出了原作设定的外壳，对智谋和暴力的表现效果却十分平庸。
