The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 抛开伦理道德，爱绵长永存。与其说是伦理道德的博弈，不如说是人性与爱的较量。男主的每一个决定，反应，包括克隆人jack的每一个反馈和思想，都是人类内心深处关于自私的人性与爱的衡量。理解卡梅隆即将孤独死去无助愤怒的情绪，也理解jack惶恐，害怕，对未来不确定性表现出的惊恐乞求可怜的眼神。如果未来真的能做到indistinguishable，那么唯爱永生。
