The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 黑木华好可爱啊，柄本佑也还是好帅。看之前因为标题以为会是完全不同的类型和风格，所以看了觉得还挺超出预期的小故事（当然如果只说剧情本身是平常的
海兽样子不是很Q，3D动画总是大人孩子都爱看的。每个细微表情都到位，人类总是爱先挑起战争。动物才为了保护自己反击。
整体感觉挺棒的。翻唱的《plastic love》也很棒。尤其是最后一段的漫画与现实的转换非常妙。
半出好戏，后半段人物动机太苍白，每一个人物都有问题，完全无法理解怎么想的，相比之下驯龙高手实在好太多。主角团互相友好未给出理由。最后冲突坏人完全可以全部推给皇室来起头，非要写坏船长实在没必要。
更多的是迎合了多数人对待出轨的另一半用同样出轨的方式施以报复的心理吧。漫画的设定还是巧妙的，除此之外，就只能说中规中矩了。不知为什么，本是很喜欢黑木华的，但这部电影里的黑木华却一点也喜欢不起来，大概是我从心底里厌恶对爱情不忠的人和事吧。

剧情挺精彩，结局真不错，一贯的日影风格吧，就是节奏还是我不能接受的慢。

利用漫画来不动声色地报复出轨老公，真的厉害。
すっごく面白い物語なの，サスペンスのペース丁度いい。リアルと漫画の切り替え超スムーズ，結末の逆転も絶妙！華ちゃんと佑さんはこの夫婦役にぴったり，外見も性格も，キャスディングすごいね。
跟可可一起看的，小红小蓝很可爱！有隐喻当下，美国四处散播中国威胁论，还有全球到处拱火，挑起俄乌战争！有什么办法？我们有一天也只能应战，对于这种霸权主义，没有协调余地，和平只存在于动画片里！
好看！这种电影或许是只属于日本或者是有日本特色的电影，“漫画创作＋人性伦常”这种标签我是非常喜欢的，丈夫在妻子的漫画创作下察觉妻子知晓自己出轨，两个人的冷战，争吵都随着漫画情节的推进而推进，整个过程啼笑皆非又极其治愈。黑木华和柄本佑的组合也很适配，欲望纯真的碰撞，“外遇”对象同时到来的修罗场，看预告期待了很久，也算没有辜负期待。评分8.0/10。
Bravo! 人夫着急的样子好像狗狗。从修罗场的面面相觑到最后的“ウソ～”，不动声色的角色扮演游戏可真有意思。
8分，不要人云亦云，要独立思考，且对自然充满敬畏与好奇。中国的儿童尤其需要这样的电影。
真无聊。近年来的日本电影有两个极端趋势，一种是越来越克制抽象概念化的剧作模式，还有一种则是越来越外显与表面化的剧作呈现形式，而这就是后者的代表，以至于让原本优秀的主演都变得暗淡无光，就像两个听从命令的提线木偶。
看似很平淡的故事，通过漫画和现实的结合变得跌宕起伏，角度也很有趣w
