The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 前半段小武学徒生涯，后半段成名与师傅的和解。简单却又令人感动。为梦想奋斗的故事永远令人热泪盈眶，师傅的牺牲是阿武腾飞的温床，而他永远也赶不上下一个时代，悲剧性就在于此。师徒传承令人感动，选角极其成功。相比较同样题材的《火花》，更好进入，没有那么绝望，那么悲伤。
师品质有保障；小战斗制作精；素人演员也很

老谋子就是能把一个挺普通的故事，拍到让你不快进
原本想一部拍北野武的电影居然不是限制级那得多没意思，但其实浅草小子时期的北野武就是如此温情励志，好像红白歌会现场幽暗灯光下那一曲小调，怀旧而伤感。柳乐优弥模仿的惟妙惟肖，但多希望最后那一组镜头导演本尊可以现身。
