The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. Blumhouse制作，WTF类型伪纪录片，只顾玩不解释，女主疯疯癫癫各种zz不正确貌似还是本色出演颇具争议，片尾一段rap把所有幕后人员都”问候“了一遍，倒突然觉得有点可爱，2星半。
3.5。难得看到一个20分钟迅速进入主题，接下来全程wtf+卧槽的伪纪录血浆恐怖片。。。
断断续续看完了，大意就是只要给那个怪物上供，自己就会获得能量，前提是被上供的那个人意志力薄弱。节奏太慢了，还以为是梦魇一类的，结果最后怪物才出场，两星，怪物造型加一星。
晃得太厉害了看得我晕车，但我喜欢里面讽刺的部分。
如同电影中所演，一部像S一样的电影，蓝房子公司是疯了吗，外国人也是疯了吗？
《重生之我在UK跑外卖遭到精子怪假扮的异能老太追杀》。对伪纪录恐怖片解构的一种路径，用疯逼女主+没心没肺的joker+各类型元素的混搭捏合在一起以夯实它的基底，所以它压根就是一搞笑片，属实是老少皆宜。2.5
除了怪物造型还行，其他乏善可陈，而且是dark end
还不错，就是太晃，怪物看不清楚。最后还有一丢丢克苏鲁。
故弄玄虚，其实啥也没有，精神攻击。
也许是我没看懂吧，但是电影给人感觉非常糟糕
太被低估了，惊悚和恐怖融合的特别好，可怕的不是鬼，而且是人。可怕的镜头不多，但是几个亮点特别精彩。
#2021TIFF午夜单元观众选择奖第三名
电影里的老奶奶和导演前作的那个怪物长得好像。虽然依旧还是各种暗戳戳地黑政府，但这部影片比以往任何一部伪恐怖纪录片都要更加考验观众的眼睛、耳朵和耐心，绝对是今年最“WTF”（即是贬义也是褒义）的影片了。不恐怖也不搞笑，但很恶趣味。坚持看完了正片，反而觉得片尾的臭嘴Rap竟然正常多了，而且还有点小可爱。拍得很好，但下次还是不要这样拍了，真的太考验人的耐性了。。。
影片前半部分比较emmm…主播老姐确实是很放的开，很完美的演出了一个耿（sha）直（bi）形象，而随着剧情的推进，开始变得“卧槽不断”，整个后半部分简直wtf停不下来……总的来说挺有意思的，不过少儿不宜，嗯，这是最主要的。
神秘枪客 glory hole，高速阿婆会飞翔，摘头割喉树上站，新婚爆窗冚家铲，森林霰弹终折肢，镜面迷宫潭中斗，MAGA Rapa 灭邪神……美帝即兴说唱女皇英伦除妖夜，把片尾所有人名都拿来骂一遍很可以；《HOST》导演 Rob Savage 不负众望，期待再来一部伪纪录片组个新冠恐怖三部曲
电影刚局就被那个大怪物惊艳到，对于接下来的剧情还是很期待的。故事的画面感跟色彩搭配还是有那种惊悚度的。
全视之眼，倒十字架，嗜血，恶魔形象，反人类行为，污秽的物体和语言
3.5，用Chaotic来形容实在太准确，好久没看到这么开心的疯片了（某些人真的能不能别传一堆机翻截图到豆瓣引流了）
拉美风格，气氛好，制作团队内涵强。近几年，不错的小众恐。推荐。
前一小时冗长且割裂，恐怖桥段执行力不行导致泄气。上古蝶神造型不错。
