During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 太好莱坞了，导演沉迷于自我陶醉中，觉得自己拍得特别美，其实处处矫揉造作，让人无法忍受。电影转黑白之后，我就想关掉它，塑造的这个小男孩，又是最让人讨厌的；虽说从小朋友的视角看大人世界会较单纯些，但导演却打造了一个人物关系处处不合理的成熟小孩角度，整条街都以这个小朋友为中心。甚至要故作高深，将电影黑白化，想要拍出《罗马》的感觉，但《罗马》并不只是单纯的黑白化呀，里面透露出来的情感那么真，跟这个比起来，更显得这部电影整体的浮于表面。
台词动辄引用爱尔兰诗人名句的情况多到不行，像作文不会写而引经据典故作高深的学生。爱尔兰民谣和各种插曲多到几乎是一个接一个MV；知道你是爱尔兰故事了倒也不必硬拗那么多爱尔兰元素吧。

比起之前的任何大电影都好看3岁小侄子认真看到尾。

个人观感：阿方索·卡隆《罗马 Roma》＞肯尼思·布拉纳《贝尔法斯特 Belfast》。—— 尽管影片的故事不够吸引我，但摄影、剪辑、表演、声效、配乐等制作方面倒是让我觉得挺不错的。

不懂为什么要弄成黑白的，整个影片气质甚至部分演员的表演都很现代气息浓郁，和黑白片根本不搭，很奇怪，头尾的彩色场景反而很美很舒适

不在乎有没有感动别人
开头两分钟像旅游宣传片。"The Irish were born leaving, otherwise, the rest of the world would have no pubs." Good Friday Agreement保了爱尔兰二十年的和平 -- 虽然直到2000年贝尔法斯特街头仍有军队护送儿童上下学，十几年前两次在那里看到的遗迹和壁画记忆犹新。脱欧等于撕毁这一切，爱尔兰岛的统一似乎不再是个梦。
没有完不成的工作，只有勇敢的狗狗！汪汪汪汪汪！
就好像那些拥有远离故土的勇气又有将记忆中的黑白讲述出来的能力的孩子，童年时代一定都受到过伟大影音的影响似的。

叙事视角除了 Buddy 也有大人们的沉重严肃的展现 可是这样全景式的选取就会让每一次 Van Morrison 的柔化 暖心 俏皮的 MV 格外的迷惑 最后的三个群体都致敬果然是个靠时间靠糊弄弥合大团圆结局了 除此之外给演员的表演更是舞台化与特写镜头的叠加 做作而不自知吗 不 Kenneth Branagh 当然是明知而为之 尤其是妈妈的两场台词输出 solo 给了银幕和舞台彩色 电视却是黑白 2333 p.s. 最开始以为那个牧师提及的 good/bad road 岔路画会是 Buddy 内心对当年暴动的映照暗线 结果也是半程没过就丢了 _(:з)∠)_

感慨一下影像的力量。是一部相当私人的回忆录，也因此每个人物都简单却富有生命力，感觉像是窥探了一段真实生活。多亏了影像的记录，能让这种本不会被人关注的平淡的日子被写下来。没有把生活复杂化，可能是对自己童年最大的敬意，是很真诚的怀念。
