The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 会有别人眼中的我们/那些碎片/我们曾以为瞥见的，我们的碎片/会由我们的梦渗透/每一次，我们都是外来者/夜旅人/就像被留在房间的旧镜子上的那些脆弱的阴影/很久很久没有看过这么「舒缓」的电影，一种温暖的东西，慢慢延长，不会被时间停止。反复确认拍摄年份，惊讶导演竟然依然可以拍出法国新浪潮电影的质感，细腻的粗糙感。
比想象中好。稍稍有点拘谨于格式，能看出来故事创作时时而涌上来的犹豫和迷茫。我们留在别人心中的碎片，由梦来滋养。我们是夜旅人，留在巴黎玻璃上的碎片。很细腻的一个片子，唯独就是这个故事拍成一部电影，体量还不够足。
