The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 一切都在标准化，什么都越来越像，连眼镜熊都大多长得差不多，圆寸、黑框眼镜、络腮胡，在这个求同存异的世界里，如果什么都一样，那也太无趣了
電影的前半段很精彩，節奏也好，但是後半段人物的態度變化有點突兀，反派太過臉譜化，羅恩是為交朋友而存在的，可它最後的確成了巴尼的朋友，機器人最大的功能是陪伴，而不是為了交朋友而交朋友吧，更不是犧牲吧，所以本片最不解的其實就是羅恩為什麽一定要消失才能拯救大家，為什麽最後不把羅恩的數據先備份，然後再上傳和原始程序融合，這樣羅恩就不用消失了，所以最後的強行煽情不太喜歡，也許動畫的情感設定和真實程序總是不同的吧。

当代的科技特别是手机和社交软件本意是让人更轻松的交流 让人链接彼此 但却让人陷入了社交焦虑与虚荣的怪圈 让人过于沉醉于此 反而让人忘记了线下人与人之间 面对面这种交流 更限制了进一步亲密关系的可能 就像电影中的机器人本意是让小孩子获得一个朋友 但反而让人更孤独
不输《超能陆战队》的动画佳作，立意甚至更胜一筹。
结局失去了机器人，获得了现实的友谊。
