整体的画风比较一般，奶奶讲故事的几段画风还蛮好看的。更适合做清淡治愈的TV版动画，带有“奇妙物”和“迷途之屋”，给人内心中带来温暖和感动。作为大电影来说，高潮和故事的起承转合，都有点太简单了。
插画画风，人物较为扁平，情绪不够饱满停留在表面，河童和地藏菩萨的设定蛮有意思的，最后一段打妖怪仿佛在过家家。

关于灾后重建，属于狐岬的“山月记”，很满意的一点是主角都是女性，加入神话志怪元素，更显动人。
