The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 怎么说呢 无法言表 沈马是银屏里的最佳拍档 那么独孤月和马蓝星就是拥挤银河里的两颗并排的星星 看似那么靠近却又遥不可及 但正是这种距离才让独孤月如此的想要拉进两人之间的距离 我始终觉得 他们是最懂彼此的人 是互相成全 更是彼此成就 “我的大脑 为了你已经疯狂到 脉搏心跳没有你 根本不重要”
喜剧不够喜剧，科幻不够科幻，煽情煽的烂，一锅乱炖。
【为什么点映评论不显示？】现在的院线太需要这样一部片子了。有一些设计略刻意（比如彩蛋）最bug的是怎么会有那么多镜头可以直播啊。部分剧情让我想起了不要抬头和飞驰人生……我挺讨厌黄子韬的但他那两个梗真的满好笑。。美团应该给袋鼠冠名的。
想求歌单！竟然听到了coldplay的歌，双厨狂喜
出乎意料的好看，男主虽大多数时间是独角戏观众却也不会觉得无聊，尤其沈腾天生喜感，简直一看他的脸就想笑。最后的结局很催泪，绝对是最近最值回票价的电影。
注意：它不是硬桥硬马的科幻！

别当喜剧片看，当喜剧片看没意思，不那么好笑，当科幻片的预期看，差不多七分水平吧。脑补 流浪地球 火星救援 楚门的世界 差不多这样吧。

全程很欢乐，笑得停不下来，每一小只都好可爱，小时候的gru也好可爱。还有这一部里面的家就是他们后面住的家，房子里面的装修都一样的。有几个地方剧情都能连起来。

29 July 2022。好久沒進電影院 果然大屏幕上任何好笑可以淺笑的點都會不由自主隨著身邊的人一起放大笑聲 雖然戲路都能猜到並且演員們也不好看 但是說了一個毫無尿點的故事 點亮了禮拜五的夏日深夜。
