The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 喜剧还不错，翻拍法国版，好久之前还有一部黄政民演的韩剧 那个傻瓜 也是这个剧情，亚裔导演总会抓住亲情部分，少数族裔里的拉美裔家庭观念和亚洲如出一辙。
很简单的故事，意外的很喜欢，在这终于要解封的夜晚。
我并不是她的粉丝，但是梅姐的歌和演的电影，我大部分听过、看过，这就是一代巨星的影响力吧。
梅艳芳，香港女儿，总有一些瞬间是活在很多人心里的。
和朋友聊了会儿越聊越气，消费情怀的电影。两星都是给阿梅和哥哥。电影真是大型超长MV，太可怕了，人物好扁平，弧光基本没有，不如去看文字传记都比这来得生动。
翻完，没啥意思，主要女主颜值打扮我没惊艳到吧
近四个小时拆分五集的导演剪辑版，有三集多在呈现梅艳芳的爱情故事，可能对于大多数像我这样，对“梅姐”的了解仅存在“醉拳、审死官、女人花、夕阳之歌”的观众来说，这部传记电影，是不及格的。我们更期待的是这位风华绝代的“百变天后”“香港的女儿”更多样性的人生历程，比如那些经典作品的创作背景，舞台、荧幕下更丰富的生活，这其中当然包括她的情感生活，但包括不等于过度的堆叠冗长的感情戏来消费大众对“梅艳芳”三个字的情怀啊。剧情不够爱情凑，而我以为这样一位享负盛名的人物，随便取一些她的人生轨迹都可以拼出一部精彩的影片吧，又怎会缺少剧情呢？我想大多数还愿意打三星的都是冲着“梅艳芳”这个名字吧。
说难听点，在手机上看场梅艳芳演唱会片段都比这来的共情，它不断的在用段段MV质感串联起的视觉体验与空壳人偶提醒着我，那片地与精神已死，夕阳之歌到如今唱的不止是梅艳芳的唏嘘，而是整个HK。
3星半。看故事简介时没料到会拍的这么好看，轻松流畅，小幽默处颇多，最难得的是影片行至后半部分，眼看就要套路无趣了，影片立即干净收尾，毫不拖沓，男主也演的很不错。虽然这故事现实完全不会发生，但架不住确实有趣，当成人童话看也是很好的，准备看法国原版了。再有，这又是一个超级适合国人、适合开心麻花团队翻拍的剧本，爆款预定，而且几乎无需改动，我都已经想到沈腾演这个男主会是什么样了。
香消玉损，逝去才追忆。绝世风华的两人离去，告别一个鼎盛的明星时代。

俗套，几处笑，可配可乐沙发打发时间，没了。
虽然并非什么惊艳神作，故事也并不新鲜，还是翻拍法国的，观影全程却非常舒服，有种久违的放松感，令人恰到好处的开怀大笑，甚至还有点《请回答1988》式的家长里短的感动。冲着片尾女主和原配一起对付渣男的正向操作，终于不再是女人之间的撕逼，也值四颗星。女主好像“小丑女”玛格特·罗比，男主也有种憨豆先生的气质。非常合适国产也翻拍，哈哈。
5、不如这部电影改个名字叫《中国香港抄得一般狂想曲》怎么样？
名人传记，你要么讲一件小事，讲好它，不然就容易出流水账。优秀典型是至暗时刻。
美版 替身演员 看着真着急，能理解导演选这个题材的原因，但《罗马假日》都上映快70年，《诺丁山》是23年前的电影，法国版也是12年前的，再玩这种梗实在看着着急。整部电影能看出所有人都在使劲，导演想用拉丁文化本土化改造，女主角不甘做花瓶一直在给自己加戏，男主角想带着女演员撑起一整部电影。但方向错了，再努力也只能越走越远。
随着梅姐的告别落幕，更加觉得，这是一部让每个人都能思考人生意义的电影。
一封玫瑰色滤镜的情书，一场自欺欺人的纪念。创作者实在缺乏表达的勇气，然而好像也只能表达到这个地步。一声叹息。
3.5挺老套的剧情，但是并没有拍的很俗套，关系衔接的很自然 ，还不错
完美的服化道，水准之下的剧作。对于这个编剧失望透顶。梅艳芳是个人，不是一开始就体贴、有爱心、从事公益的。所有人都在欺骗自己，好像感动了大家，但实际上这电影看的我如坐针毡，如芒刺背，如鲠在喉；张国荣选角如此油腻如此突兀，根本不想看到他；摄影一开始对光旋转很惊艳，但没想到从头转到尾毫无惊喜；三星给技术，其他的通通零分。
