The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 表面是热浪翻涌，实际在深海处是一片孤寂，圣地亚戈看似像火一样热情的生命力，给我感觉却像在一点点枯萎，看的过程好紧张，好怕最后这根弦崩了。世上只有妈妈好啊，妈妈说“你和你爸爸不一样”，太感动了，是啊，他或许搞砸了很多事，可是他确实是个好爸爸，背负着童年的伤痕真的是太致郁了，可是他不一样，他不是那个全篇没出镜却时刻让片里好多角色窒息的存在。过去无法改变，未来犹未可知，可是这一次他坚定的说出“我会一直在这里等着你”。全片的节奏感很好，背景音乐很赞，我头回看人全裸半天唱着careless whisper的，也是头回看到在大提琴的背景音乐下蹦迪的，那种狂欢下的孤独对比冲击太强了。Leo50岁还是帅的，标志笑容还是那么迷人，从烈焰焚币开始就给我就下了阿根廷男人很帅的印象。

这大概为什么觉得“激进“有时候很不好，你打破稳定性之后又寻求稳定？这不可能吧。

南美版的“叔叔”，面对的社会束缚也许更少，但终极的问题，大家都是一样的。

还真是全剧静心看完了才明白为啥取这么个剧名，爱情总是无缘由的，爱与不爱，左右得了自己，左右不了别人。对？错？谁能说得清呢？

可怜了leo叔叔的美貌啊，这片子太过凌乱破碎了。

平平淡淡，本以为可以拍出不一样的青春映画，但也就那样吧...松本花奈只适合拍淡淡的恋爱青春映画。
性，酒精，药物，乃至最后连亲情也要拿来尝试。在过往中留恋，不甘于放弃，还有那因谎言蔓延开的麻木与窃喜，然而这一切却又是那么的痛。太痛了，要像孩子一般嘶吼着、咆哮着、控诉着，但背影是落寞的、孤独的、害怕的。幻想与执着终是要画上一个句号，就如烟花易冷。当所有的依靠最后都离他远去，立于高台之上，道着最后的深情，是否会俯视，是否会有想要放弃的冲动？
韩国的喜剧片好带感，我好喜欢这种清狗血的剧情，毫不油腻

选角某种程度上挺不合理的。就男主这种颜值和气质放哪里不是抢手货，还搁这中年危机被小年轻嫌弃，属实想当然了。不过他个人魅力摆在那里就算剧情很离谱还是忍不住让人花痴脸看下去。开场的聚会现场拍得让人印象深刻，建议导演进军gv界造福观众。
