剧情介绍

The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it?     主题推进得非常缓慢，甚至快到中段之前会怀疑这种不知是否可以算作清教徒式的苦行生活对赎罪有何用处，只能说生活上的一点克制和精神上的每日自省在一遍遍洗刷过往PTSD带来的烙印，但随着超广角的监狱酷刑展示，加害者的原罪在迷幻中被揭开，牌桌上的推演计算是精神上的麻醉剂吗？爱可以救赎过往的罪孽吗？信仰早已幻灭，刑具则是所身处的真相，加害者原来也是受害者，最后只能通过刑罚受戒得到解脱。还是有些简陋，爱情线没有那么必要。

    打光方式突出了Bill的受困之感，昏暗牌室成为禁闭囚房的变体，人物只能偶尔逃离片刻。导演Paul Schrader把俗气的灯光公园拍得很梦幻，也是片中Bill最放松的时刻，另外Bill梦境回忆中的集中营也是既梦幻又邪恶。Cirk在某种意义上是Bill的分身，是他充满光明与希望的一面。随着Cirk的死去，Bill也就明白了他再也不可能过上新生活了。
