The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 总的来说，该片舞台剧不像舞台剧，电影不像电影。
像是戏剧，但又有不同于戏剧（即电影）的表现手法。场景很宏大，但近景又看不太出。
大体上还是那个熟悉的故事，作为改编并没有看到侧重点，强烈舞台剧风格和极简黑白摄影美感十足，角色冗长拗口的台词又很分散注意力，华盛顿的表演风格和其他人似乎有些格格不入，科恩兄首部独立导演的作品实在有点差强人意了。
不输给《缺席的人》的顶级构图，造形，最绝的城堡
莎翁的作品还是伟大。麦克白的悲剧或许在于无法听到自己的声音，无法循着自己的使命妥善过一生，听了太多谗言蒙蔽了自己的双眼。
前方的那把，原来是门的把手——通向D死亡的门——它打开了…
这电影估计会在表演和摄影或者美术上拿奥奖提名。
科恩兄弟单飞了？不光单飞，科恩大哥的构图怎么有点学韦斯安德森了？不管怎么，绝对没有黑泽明大师的版本那么惊艳和张力十足，这个版本有点偏于简陋和仓促。
属于颁奖季特供了，有点<第七封印>的影子，不过也就看表演、视听和导演风格，故事真的没什么意思了。
对于the original text和plot的绝对熟悉是本片最基础的观影门槛了, 而Macbeth作为（可能是）我最喜欢的Shakespeare作品，看到Denzel Washington和Fran McDormand飙戏就忍不住要打四星以上。选择黑白的影像呈现，Joel Coen这次在mise-en-scene上下足了功夫，无论是建筑环境还是光影变化，都透露出一种冷峻却疯狂的气质。除了很喜欢影片对于the witches的处理外，McDormand对于Lady Macbeth的处理确实让人有耳目一新的感觉，野心并不是那么的外放，狠辣却不减分毫，最后的sleep walking scene更是一种后窗式的解构，让人对她的表演欲罢不能。

把舞台剧直接搬上大荧幕大概就是这样了，摄影真是绝了，不过总觉得丹泽尔华盛顿有种违和感
