The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 有点失望，要不是女主的演技，实在无法忍受废柴般的镜头。
以纪录片的呈现为外套，其核心仍是主流片女主的情感线——流浪疗愈，渴望家庭，专情配偶。跟同名非虚构小说不是一回事情，但看得出华人导演很希望融入美国社会。
何止是流浪，在都市里独居，举目无亲的孤独感在钢铁丛林里蔓延，每到深夜都想尝试放纵自己，用感官的刺激来弥合精神上的空虚。

苍天明眸有时过于灼热
骨子里向往自由的人，并经历了所谓“稳定”的幻灭，彻底而决绝地再次投身自由。孤独只是个必要的装饰品，所有的感情也都自然无法长久，只有“在路上”是永恒的。所以，“路上见”。

麦姨已经出神入化了，这里根本分不出哪个是演员，哪个是真的游牧一族。最后黑幕起，“献给不得不上路的人，我们路上再见”，全剧的克制都在这两句话释放，戳中泪点。哪有那么多的浪漫，很多时候上路都是不得已的。不管是生活所迫还是为了疗愈内心，终究还是要活下去啊。
导演视角、演员表演、角色困境融为一体，看似荒野中四顾茫然的人生，但每一程都使“人”的力量加增一分。

对于成千上万个Fern来说, 生活是一种选择, 或许现实没有给他们选择的余地, 但他们却永远葆有去选择的勇气。
有些人就是会永远在路上，有些时候，一旦退出了主流人群，就再也不能像从前一样融入一种，愿每个人都能保持并享受独立的自我。
配乐太拉垮了。私以为最后一个镜头如果不要那辆车会更好。剪辑真棒，有得学。
