《借来的100天》改编自小说《彩色缤纷》，日本曾经拍过动画片，而泰国曾率先拍过电影。日本和泰国的电影都很好看，只是日本版更阳光一些。

这是一部新西兰的电影，片尾年轻人对奶奶的送别，采用了传统的毛利舞，祖孙三代，各有各的问题，而最后能够和解，皆得圆满。
