The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 像是讲述美国六十年代生活的电影，后面回归正题，以前人类探索太空是政治需要，苏联解体后政治上不在需要了，人类探索的进程也开始慢了起来甚至开始开倒车了，当下人类又开始了探索太空的比赛，这次不再是政治需要，而是人类发展需要。

上世纪60年代末美国社会即景，平淡顺滑的叙事很像在看回忆录，但这片子恐怕非得那一代成长起来的美国人才共情得了，外国观众还是看个热闹算了。
