The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 绞肉行动 洋洋洒洒讲了两个小时的二战时期英国对德国的假旗行动。看完跟没看一样。讲事就讲事，扯一堆感情线家庭戏，又不讲清楚，反倒把最好看做证据的细节压缩了很多。不能说英国人不会拍历史题材，《贝尔法斯特》就很好，更宏大的《女王》也很好。但这两年二战题材的英国电影真不如德国拍的好。大概历史题材的主旋律全世界都不是给普通观众看的吧。
实为一段不为人知的历史，too real to be ridiculous，男女主人设着实不讨喜，也挺想看反纳粹分子在对面决定继续骗的故事～
上小学的时候在《舰船知识》杂志上看过这个故事，但电影拍的并不好
不但有两代达西，在双十开会时，墙上有乔治六世的画像，科林-费尔斯和自己获奖的角色也同框了。挺好看的电影啊并不觉得闷，感情戏有点多余。
难以相信编剧差到这个地步，明明一个战争谍战故事，非要加一大堆莫名其妙的感情戏，最终胜利还是因为敌人内部撕逼的反对派。难道反对派就不怕上报个假情报引火烧身？

非常非常平庸，完全无法理解怎么能把这么精彩的故事拍得这么平庸。所有演员都非常好，然而再好的演员也救不了这么平庸的作品。全凭我对科林的深爱才坚持看完，唉。

6.5分。很小就知道这个行动，当时就觉得这样设计个虚拟人的人生好有意思，但现在看看，其实后面怎么让这个文件顺利送达希特勒才是关键啊，可惜电影里对这段也是语焉不详，搞得我空欢喜一场。一方面这些高光点被忽视，另一方面乱七八糟的感情戏却占了很大的部分，八点档电视剧的内容挤在这么个正剧里面真的好吗？？？
拍得四平八稳，观感很平庸。不知画蛇添足的三角恋（而且还是狗血的婚外恋）是否为史实，完全可以拿掉。
