The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 本片在近年来的蜡笔小新剧场版里属于让观众眼前一亮的存在，在“精英教育能否孕育出人才”这一困扰东亚各国的老生常谈的问题上给出了自己的解答，也通过小孩子们的视角给了青春一个诠释：青春可以是放浪形骸、可以是忧郁孤独、可以是两小无猜、可以是笔耕不辍；青春绚丽多彩，青春总有遗憾，青春是你我一辈子最重要的回忆。
幼稚的画风和特别理智的情绪：不刻意敌视高材生，不盲目宣扬普通人。看到最后突然很喜欢正男。

蜡笔小新的剧本真的出乎预料之外的好，要看哭了T.T

这个剧场版，会让人联想到，春日部防卫队五人组长大以后会不会渐行渐远。。惆怅
看完只想说一句小新牛掰，新风万岁！反乌托邦式的场景设定，天才还是庸才的对峙背后是对教育制度的反思，推理追凶的类型模式也带来了新的观影趣味，但核心仍是一贯疯癫热血的喜剧基调，对友情的守护是戏剧推动力，也是让人泪目的情感内核，能把一个剧场版的动画拍到笑中带泪，几十年保持整体的高质量，冲这一点也要向新酱鼓掌。PS:希望隔壁的柯南剧场版可以向小新取取经。

悬疑感很强，确实没猜到这个凶手，作为悬疑片合格了。（反倒不像蜡笔小新了。）
